Striking and sincere, Alberto Polo Iañez’s amazing style of photography has always captured our hearts at Whattaroll. With a minimalist approach to his work, he effortlessly strips away the noise and gimmicks which often flood an artist’s work, leaving us with images filled with a tremendous amount of heart and passion.
We caught up with Alberto recently and he happily shared a few insights on his approach to photography:
“In the end, it’s all about clearing your mind, a strong exercise of emptiness. It’s the purpose of forgetting any prejudices or influences, staying away from all the pollution – intellectual and biological – in which we are so caught up in these days.”
When we asked what he felt went into making a great collection of shots, he answered:
“Even the smallest of elements can be crucial and can give you the right amount of inspiration to carry on. We ourselves are the most significant part of the process; we have to set and train our minds in order to find inspiration in the most insignificant things. We simply need to look beyond the surface.”
