Quickly attracted to the analog world due to its mood, French photographer Julien Chambon fell in love with it after he dated a talented analog photographer (see, love can often be this productive!). When we asked him about his sources of inspiration, this is what he answered:
“My friends. Photographers, musicians, drawers, writers, painters — I’m surrounded by talented artists who give me the energy and mood to create. Besides them, I’d also say the things I live for everyday inspire me. When I need to see something else, something new, I take a tour on Flickr, looking into groups about film photography and medium format. These are goldmines.”
Often using his beloved Pentacon Six, we asked Julien about his perfect working combo, and he confessed:
“For 6 months now I have only shot with 120 film. This format is uncommon and it produces big and beautiful negatives. I like it. I still shoot with the film I started with, the Ilford HP5+. On the color side, I recently fell in love with the Fuji Pro 400H.”
